i have been using both GIZMO5 and skype on nokia phones. (n82) skype works very well and is clear in while in europe. it does not work well while in the usa. GIZMO5 has worked well everywhere and i have found the quality much better than skype. but their tech support stinks!

Yesterday, to confuse us all, Nokia announced that their application store for developers would be call Ovi Store; link to one story added in the text above. I think you are confusing this announcement with their Ovi.com Mobile user services.

Hmm.. how does this play into the OVI network on a long term basis. OVI how I understand it, is BB messenger on steroids, pretty powerful when it gets critical mass.

Now I am thinking Skype purchase by Nokia – as Nokia really can’t let Skype go to Apple strategically…

While there are about over 400 million registered accounts, Hudson Barton's Borderless Communicator tracks "people online". From his numbers there are probably around 40 to 50 million active accounts/users. I have gone on record as saying that Skype should report the number of accounts who made at least one Skype call in the previous quarter and other usage numbers typically released by carriers. eBay corporate needs to get their investor relations communication head around the fact that providing such numbers does not put Skype at any competitive disadvantage.
